Bright and early this morning we headed to the new IHC outpatient building to FINALLY get Maxwell's tonsils out. We have been waiting for this day for two years. We got checked in and got wrist bands, and then settled in to wait.
Maxwell who was very shy and didn't want to talk to the staff, finally started to warm up and sat happily in his Star Wars jammie's on the bed. They actually let him wear into surgery instead of having to wear the hospital jammie's.

The guy who was Max's nurse gave him this game system. He thought that was pretty cool and quickly proceeded to tear it out of the package.
Here is me and my Max man
When it was his turn, they came to get him and he was not having that. The ladies said that we could walk with him. So we all headed down to the the operating room. When it was time for us to part Max totally started crying and didn't want to go. One of the ladies picked him up and i gave him a kiss on the forehead and told him it would be OK and he grabbed onto my hand so tight. They pried his hand off of mine and just carried him away crying hysterically. It broke my heart and made me cry.

Here Nick is feeding him a Popsicle slush that one of the nurses made for him. His IV was hurting him pretty bad and he wanted it out.

Hillary,
That is so sad and actually made me tear up because our little Ellie had tubes put in last fall and it was the same experience she is grabbing me screaming and they pry her from me and take her away screaming and I sat with tears streaming down my face. Worried about my terrified baby! I hope this helps him and he can stay healthy now. Good luck with recovery.
I hope that Max is happy now, you are a strong mommy, I don't know that I could watch my child like that!
This is really sad! he will feel so much better though! love the star wars jammies!!!
Hope he is doing great by now...we didn't know he was having his tonsils out or we would have checked on him sooner! I think it's always harder on the mom than the kids!!
Poor Max! He looks so sad! Hopefully this will prevent lots of future sickness though. Still it doesn't look like fun!
